Setting up a 301 Redirect on your Weebly website
June 5 2020
If you delete a page or change the page's permalink/url, you need to set up a 301 Redirect.
Having a page return a 404 Page Not Found Error, is not good for Google Search Engines, nor does it look good for your viewers.

This is a very simple procedure.
Under SETTINGS >> SEO, towards the bottom you will find the 301 redirect section.
The form the 301 redirect should take is:
/oldpage.html for standard type pages
or
/blog/oldblogpost for blog style pages. If you have called the blog TRAVEL for example, the 301 redirect will take the form of: /travel/oldblogpost
If like me, you are moving a post from a blog post to a standard page, you must delete the blog post and hit PUBLISH before setting up a 301 redirect.

An example of setting up the 301 redirect on Weebly. Simply select the page you want all traffic to be redirected to, HOME in this example. Hit SAVE, then hit SAVE in the bottom right corner and Hit PUBLISH.
All traffic to the old page will automatically be redirected to your desired page. You cannot redirect pages to a particular blog post but you can redirect it to your blog, where all the posts are nestled under.
