1. Column Lock App
Created by Waddons, a web design team who build themes and apps for the Weebly platform.
This is a very useful app. When you build on Weebly, elements that can be placed side by side on the desk top version, automatically get rearranged so that they are on top of each other when viewed on mobile version. Infuriating sometimes but you can understand why. The screen in portrait mode is small so when 2 images are side by side, the images are tiny.
But when I wanted to make a 'Next Post and Last Post' navigation option at the end of each post when using the standard Weebly page, I needed to force Next Post and Last Post to show on the same line with the Next Post, aligned to the left and Last Post, aligned to the right.
This I accomplished with the Column Lock App.
I simply drag 2 text elements, side by side and above each one, add the Column Lock App element as shown below:
Thanks to Bernadette on the Weebly Community who told me about this one!!
2. H+ Tag App
This one is by EditorTricks, formerly known as WeeblyTricks.
Title elements on Weebly are set by default to H2. H1 have the most SEO clout when it comes to tags. So for titles on a standard blog page, I just drag the H+ app and set it to H1.
I have been opting to use the standard Title element more recently as there are a few niggles with the 3rd party app:
But I still use the H+ Tag app for the date as at the top of this post.
I set that to H4. Set the font to Oxygen, #888888.
And I still use the H+ App for adding titles which I don't have to link.
In the Weebly App Center there are a couple of other apps which allow you to link text and adjust the line height but I am reluctant to pay, 'specially when there are comments such as, 'glitchy' and 'doesn't work well on mobile device'.
I was a big fan of their sister app, the H1 tag app which was the first to be introduced and I used to use it a lot. But I need to be able to link my post titles and if you have too many words, the default line height sadly, is crap too.
3. The Scroll Back to Top App
This one is very useful. When you have a log post, users can navigate their way back to the top of the page just by clicking the icon.
There is only one icon available but it does what it should. You can edit the colour, the size and the margins and well as aligned left or right and the speed of the action of scrolling back.
You just drag the element to the page (I drag them to the bottom) and adjust it to suit. See it on the image below in the bottom right corner.
Very simple, it's free and it works. I don't experience any glitches! Find it in the Weebly App Center!
That's it. Thanks for stopping by.
