I have submitted Nomadic Backpacker to the Bing search engine.
According to Wikipedia, Bing is a search engine, owned and operated by Microsoft (not my favourite company but wth).
As of October 2018, Bing is the third largest search engine globally, with a query volume of 4.58%, behind Google (77%) and Baidu (14.45%). Yahoo! Search, which Bing largely powers, has 2.63%.
With such a low, query volume, is it actually worth it? Undoubtedly so. Submitting nomadicbackpacker to Bing took minutes.
3 days after submitting my pride and joy to the third largest search engine, this is what I saw:
Nomadic Backpacker w/o the space:
And Bing ing Emir Guest House Jeti-Ögüz:
Now surely that can't be bad?
According to webnots:
Microsoft is having a tie up with Baidu for the English search results, that means the English search results in Baidu will use Bing search engine and then the results will be displayed in Baidu’s Search result pages.
After a few days I am seeing a few Chinese hits and they are classed as referral hits from cn.bing.com even if I am not directly in Baidu.
