How to get from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana - Dominican Republic

I travelled from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana on the Expreso Punta Cana bus.
I was up and packed pre-breakfast. A coffee at the Casa Pocos would suffice.
From there, it was a 20-minute walk to the Expreso Punta Cana bus terminal next to the Parque Enriquillo in Santo Domingo, where buses depart frequently to Punta Cana:

No pre-booking this time. I just turned up and bought my ticket à la minute:
I bought a ticket for the next bus, 9:20 am at a cost of 500 pesos.
The bus was fine. The air conditioning was good, but there was no Wi-Fi, despite that being one of the selling points. So I raw dogged my bus ride. Ha, there is not even a photo of me doing 'nothing'.
The highway was smooth. The bus ran fast.
After 2 hours 35 we made a stop at the Punta Cana Airport. Then a few stops in Vernon.
I was tracking the progress on GoogleMaps.
We continued through to Bavaro, not taking the highway.
200 metres from the ART HOSTEL, the only backpacker option in Punta Cana, I got off.
I could have continued a bit further as the bus went past the hostel.
I was happy, because the Punta Cana Express Terminal was on the highway, 5 km from the hostel and I was expecting to organise more transport or walk.
Everything turned out well!
