The Boat Cruise / Sunset Safari was the second part of the Combo-Tour to Chobe National Park, organised through Elephant Trail Backpackers in Kazungula, Botswana.
In the morning we saw many elephants, impala, baboons and a male lion with a freshly-killed young African Water Buffalo.
It had been a fantastic morning.
Then we were back at the hostel for lunch.
At 2:30 pm we get picked up and are driven to the river where we embarked on our Chobe River Sunset Safari.
We are greeted by our guide and boatman, Franz. An out-going and passionate guide as you could ask for:

Unlike the morning Game Drive, we joined forces with 5 other travellers.
So we were on the Chobe River. One interesting fact about the Chobe River is that during the dry season the river dries up somewhere out west and the waters of the Chobe River in the Northern part of Botswana are actually from the Zambezi.

Cell phones are great for using as cameras except on safaris. Even if we got pretty close, it was never close enough.
So the pictures are very mediocre. Sorry for that!
But we saw an abundance of birdlife:
Sea Eagles, Snake Birds, Cormorants, Pied Kingfishers, Ibises.
And we saw the African Buffalo, more elephants, crocs and hippos.
A perfect way to end the day.
