About Trevor Warman and Nomadic Backpacker

My name is Trevor Warman, and Nomadic Backpacker is my blog about my travels and life as a backpacker and travel blogger.

Many have said that this is one of the few authentic travel blogs left. Too many sold themselves out. They only want to make money, and they do that by bombarding their blogs with affiliate links (I don’t have any of those) and pop-ups and pages from Booking and Expedia suddenly appearing.

I want to travel, share with you my experiences, and give away information for free. A genuine blog that ain’t trying to sell you anything.

Overland Journeys

I love travelling overland.

  • Cairo to Cape Town
  • London to Monrovia
  • London to Beirut
  • Singapore to Islamabad
  • Hong Kong to the Aral Sea
  • Nairobi to Katima Mulilo
  • Cyprus to Kurdistan

I also love to travel to unusual or obscure places and countries, many of which don’t have international recognition or just ain’t mainstream enough.

I have backpacked Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), twice (before it was dissolved in 2025), The Republic of Frestonia, The Republic of Uzupis, the autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan, Dhekelia and Akrotiri and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.
