Here are the two options for getting to Glasgow Airport from the city centre by bus:
- Glasgow Airport Express 500
- Glasgow Airport Bus 77
Glasgow Airport Express 500:
Bus 500 is Glasgow Airport’s official 24-hour bus service, connecting the airport and the city centre in just 15 minutes.
It departs from Stance 46 at the Buchanan Bus Station with the following stops:
- North Hanover Street
- St Vincent Place
- St Vincent Street
- Waterloo Street
- Glasgow Airport
Heading back into the city, it departs from Stance 1 at Glasgow Airport with the following stops:
- Bothwell Street
- Bothwell Street at Hope Street (near Central Station)
- North Hanover Street
- Buchanan Bus Station
It is scheduled to take 25 minutes.

How much does a ticket for the Glasgow Airport Express Bus 500 cost?
The price of a Single Ticket is £11. An Open Return Ticket costs £16.50 (prices updated for 2026).
Glasgow Airport Bus 77:
The Glasgow Airport Bus 77, operated by First Bus, is a more affordable option than the 500 Express Bus, costing just £6.70 (updated for 2025) for a single trip ticket, making it the best choice for budget travellers like me.
It doesn’t run 24/7, takes a less direct route, with more stops, and takes more than 1 hour.

Bus 77 runs from the Buchanan Bus Station in Glasgow City Centre, but as I was staying at the StaySafe Charing Cross Hostel, there is a stop a few minutes’ walk away on Bath Street.
