Budget Airline & Low-Cost Carrier Flight Reviews for Backpackers

Let’s be honest: nobody flies a budget airline because they want a luxury experience. You book that dirt-cheap route ticket for one reason: to get from point A to point B without emptying your wallet.

Most travel blogs review flights from the comfort of business class upgrades. They don’t tell you about the strict 10kg carry-on size limits or that they will charge you 4 USD for a tiny cup of water mid-flight.

I don’t do luxury. I don’t take sponsored flights, and I only fly economy.

I prefer travelling overland by bus or train, but when flying is the only logical way, I use whatever low-cost carriers are available, whether it’s Arajet, World2Fly or Avianca.

These are my raw, unfiltered flight and route reviews with all the real logistics you need to know before you book:

How strict they are on carry-on dimensions and weight at the departure gate.

What to expect on board.

And details on how to find local transport, once you have arrived.
