Avianca Review: Bogotá (BOG) to Leticia (LET)

Flight: Avianca AV 9491

From: El Dorado International Airport (BOG) To: Aeropuerto Internacional Alfredo Vásquez Cobo – Leticia (LET)

This is my Avianca review of my flight from Bogotá to Leticia, which is sometimes referred to as the Gateway to South America.

This was the Avianca flight schedule for April 2026 from Bogotá to Leticia, which I booked directly with the airline:

After much deliberation, I decided to take the 15:00 flight.

Baggage allowances on AV 9491 from Bogotá to Leticia:

I chose the “Classic” option as I travel with a 10 kg The North Face cargo bag and a day pack. As you can see, the fare was 112.20 USD, which is £83.

I had flown from Mexico City to Bogotá on Avianca AV 73 the day before, arriving at 19:35.

I took a bed for the night at the Bababuy Hostel, for convenience, located just 3 km from the airport:

Great that Bogotá Airport has the water refill stations where you can fill your water bottle for free:

Like the flight from Mexico, it was an AirBus A320:

Online check in was available 48 hours before and you get to choose your seat at no extra cost.

The flight was just 2 hours. We departed on time and arrived on time.

There was no complimentary snacks or water offered-make sure you fill your bottle up before boarding.

They sell drinks and snacks if you need, but of course, they ain’t cheap.

The seats don’t recline but were ok for the short flight, no worries there.

  1. Nice breakdown here.

Short, sweet, smooth flights work for me.

Good to know about the $13 tourist tax on entry, too.

Fab views of the jungle. That’s a whole lotta green.
