Visiting the Latin American Tower (La Torre Latinoamericana) in Mexico City

One of the best things to do in Mexico City (if the weather is good) is to head to the Latin American Tower (Torre Latinoamericana) and take the elevator to the 44th floor to enjoy the amazing panoramic views across the city.

​From 1956 until 1984, it was the tallest building in Mexico City.

The Torre Latinoamericana was constructed between 1948 and 1956 and stands at 166m, 181.33 meters if you include the antenna.

From April 1956 until 1972, it held the record as the tallest skyscraper in Latin America and the only one located in a seismic zone. It withstood a 7.7M earthquake in 1957, and the 2 biggest quakes to rock the city in 1985 and 2017.

Located on the corner of Francisco I. Madero and Eje Central streets in the Historic Centre of Mexico City are some of the most emblematic buildings in Mexico City.

​How to get to the Latin American Tower

The Torre Latinoamericana is located a 10-minute walk from the Zocalo or just 2 minutes from the Palacio de Bellas Artes.
