Travel Plans for when things return to normal
April 14 2020
Map and list of countries I want to visit when travel restrictions are lifted:
Moldova + Transnistra
UAE + Oman *
India (North East)
East Timor *
Which would give me 12 new countries, 107 in total and while this is quite a tidy sum, it is clear that I will have to go to South and Central America if I want to get anywhere near 150. Of course there are a few left in Europe, Gibraltar, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Cyprus, Malta but these seem less important
The focus is on visiting new places with a few re visits to meet friends (Moldova, Transnistria, UAE, Philippines) and hangout (Malaysia - Cameron Highlands, Thailand - Mae Salong, Mae Sai).
And the immediate plan in Africa?
• Nakuru - Menengai Crater
• Maseno - Equator
• Jinja - Source of the Nile
• Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
• Entebbe - Equator
• Source de Nil 110km to the south
• Kigoma - take the MV Liemba ferry down Lake Tanganyika if it is still running to Kasanga, last stop in Tanzania.
• Livingstone - Vic Falls
Jo'berg to get a flight to Madagascar
This would be enough of Africa. I would have given enough time to this continent with 30 countries and territories visited.
And then on leaving Africa
Via Dubai to Kiev, Moldova, Transnistria,
• North East states inc Assam
• Mae Salong
• Mae Sai
• Cameron Highlands
• Kalimantan, Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei
Other things I would like to do before I die:
Trekking in Nepal: Annapurna Circuit, Everest Base CampTrek
