I have travelled extensively in more than 100 countries that I personally recognise. Here I document the UN-listed ones, the Non UN-listed ones, and countries where I have worked.

Backpacking in Côte d'Ivoire:
Nomadic Backpacker
I started backpacking, travelling with a backpack, towards the end of 1992, November 23rd 1992 to be precise but of course I was around for 24 years, 7 months and 15 days before I set off on that rather ill-fated trip to Australia.

I have cycled extensively in England. I knew every pothole on every road in a 50 mile radius of Bletchley. I had cycle toured North and Mid Wales, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire.

In 1990 I walked the 1071 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats, that's Southwest England to Northeast Scotland.

The same year I went to The Netherlands with the scouts which was probably the first country out side of the UK where I spent the night.

In 1992 I went to Canada (2 weeks) and the USA (1week).

My first trip abroad was to France with school at 13 years old.

But my solo travelling life with a backpack began with that trip to Australia.

UN-Listed Countries Visited:

This list has been amended.

After a great deal of thought, I have included the United Kingdom in my country count. After all, for those chasing the illusive 193 would never reach 193 if they didn't include their home country, unless they were born on the moon.

The United Kingdom comprises of Great Britain which is England, Scotland and Wales, and Northern Ireland (which I haven't yet visited but it's on my list).

To be included in my list, I must have slept at least 1 night in the country. I think my shortest stay in all these years has been Denmark where I stayed in 1999 for 24 hours. I arrived on the 8:15 from Oslo and left the next morning on the same train to Hamburg.

I have made a day trip to Palestine but have not included it in my list. I have driven through Liechtenstein but I didn't even get out of the car and I have spent 8 hours in Qatar airport and was in-transit. Maybe 1 day I will get back to these places.
