First attempt to get out and my hopes were quickly dashed

Having signed up for email alerts for evac flights going to Europe I was happy to see this:
900$. Not cheap but better than 1500$ Qatar, 1372$ Kenya Airways. And no Covid test required. But where was open? After some deliberation in an attempt to get facts verified from a higher authority, I found Serbia was open, to everyone. I could get a connecting flight the same day. It sounded promising.
Saturday morning at 5 am local time I emailed Sarah, the KLM contact to say, BEOGRAD as my final destination, having already sent the other details. At 8 am I get a reply from another contact, saying that the flight was 'already full'
I was waiting for a 'confirmation mail with the next steps', hopefully with a link so I could book and pay.
I quickly sent off a reply, asking how had others booked when I was waiting for a 'next steps' email. They had made the booking through the email address. Hmm.
I guess the Dutch had priority on a Dutch Gov organised flight on the Dutch KLM plane.
Next steps: wait for cancellation and also start praying that Kenyatta will on July 5, hear the cries of Kenyans that they are going hungry and lift the Nairobi block - hotels across the country will then reopen - and reopen the JKIA airport so flights can get going at near to normal prices. If they open both Tanzania AND Zambia borders, I will carry on with my African adventure. Uganda would also be nice. Tanzania alone gives me nothing. I was there in 2016.
If the airport reopens and the land borders remain closed, it'll be CIAO AFRICA.
