My stay at the Hotel Victoria Panajachel in Guatemala
June 23 2021
I checked out all the Hotels in Panajachel Lake Atitlan and found the Hotel Victoria Panajachel. I stayed 2 weeks there. It certainly met all my needs.
I loved my stay at Panahouse in Panajachel. It was very comfortable but such luxuries enjoyed for too long would make me soft.
It was also a bit too pricey. With a weekly rate, of 600 Q (85 Q a night) it was imperative to find a cheaper place if I was to stay longer in town.
Using GoogleMaps, I found Hotel Victoria Panajachel. "Simple Lodging with Shared Kitchen". This sounded just what I needed. The reviews were encouraging too!
I went to check it out.
The manager speaks English so it was easy to work out a deal. For 6 or 7 nights he could do 70 Quetzales a night. And this included breakfast. The Hotel Victoria is probably the cheapest hotel in Panajachel Guatemala.
So a few days later after I had finished up my stay at the Panahouse, I relocated.

Reception area:
Room 12 with double bed, I even have a TV. I wonder how Guatemalan TV is? I rigged up the mozzie net later:
Standard bathroom, just for me. Freshly laundered towel and soap:
Views of the corridors:
Windows always seem to open internally to the corridor and sound insulation is not built-in as a standard here, so depending on your neighbours thoughtfulness or lack of it, best you pack some earplugs and hope they don't stay too long.
Rooftop at the Hotel Victoria Panajachel. Gotta love the rooftop. Lots of air, good wifi and a place to drink a sundowner:
There's a basic but functional kitchen for guests:
Breakfast on the rooftop, served from 7:30 am, at the Hotel Victoria, Panajachel in Guatemala:
AVGs Wi-Fi Speed Test. I don't know if this is good or bad but YouTube ran without interruption, Video chat on Whatsapp functioned and the images on this blog post loaded as per normal. Good enough for me. If you are a digital nomad, you should be sourcing your own connection and not rely on free Wi-Fi:
Location of the Hotel Victoria Panajachel:
Clearly signposted from the main street:
