I travel to Zipolite to escape life for a while

The reason for travelling to Zipolite was to escape life for a while. To forget about the stresses and dramas of travelling during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Yes, I found it quite difficult. Others on the road at this time have not always shared my fears but their circumstances were never the same as mine. I am on a low budget. I don't have any income, I don't have any 'home' to go back to. I am forever away, my dad is in and out of the hospital and there was a fire at my hotel in Turkey.
I don't say that you have it easier or harder; just different.
But by the time I arrived in Zipolite, I had largely sorted my head out. This process had begun in Mexico City. Meeting up with my friend Sarah.
We met through a series of comments on Wade's The New Silk Road site.
I was stuck in Kenya then and she was stuck on the other side of the world.
We were lockdown buddies. 8 months of chatting later and helping each other out, we found ourselves in the same city.

I went to Oaxaca. I was happy with the environment at the hostel. Lots of open communal areas, meeting up with the long-stayers. Chewing to fat, shooting the breeze. Man, I have missed that. Single rooms in a hostel environment. The perfect antidote. After single rooms in boring hotels, this was another step on the road to recovery.
I stayed just a few days in Oaxaca because the sea air was calling. I need to cleanse my lungs and soul.
I travelled from Oxaca to Zipolite in a combi van. For almost 7 hours we twisted and turned over the mountains, down to the coast:

Within a few minutes of arriving, I stood on the beach facing South and breathed deeply. In and out. I needed that. Probably the cleanest air since Durres, Albania.
The act of watching the waves and looking out to the horizon. It sure is soothing.
I stayed at the Brisa Marina, right on the beach and this would become my favourite spot:
