Wade from Vagabond Journey runs my story

Wade from Vagabond Journey asked me if I was interested in doing an article on being stuck in Kenya.
I thought about it for less than 2 nanoseconds. What an honour!
I needed to write a completely new article as he would only run 'original' content, naturally.
I started writing.
It took me two days to do the draft. I read it over and over again. Left it for a bit then rewrote bits of it, shuffled around some paragraphs, edited it again, deleted the bits where I'd digressed and finally sent off what I thought was my best shot, but I warned Wade,
'don't be afraid to tell me it was crap and that you canned it'.
That was my biggest reservation. I only got a D grade in English at school.
So it was with delight when I get a mail to say that it was 'live'.
"I called it part one because you can't leave us hanging like this!"
Which was apt as a dear friend asked me,
'Part 1, does that mean you get to write another article?'

Wade has been blogging and writing for a long time. His bio is incredible.
I've read all of his stuff from his 'backpacking years' in particular, from Central America and when he was in Europe trying to make his mark as a blogger.
He is an authority when it comes to China. He wrote a book entitled Ghost Cities of China and is now running On The New Silk Road.
Now you can see why I considered it an honour to have been asked.
And sure, I have to write a follow-up article. "This (Covid) is one of the biggest events in global travel in history".
I've never been 'in-country' when there was a coup d'etat or any other disaster, natural or otherwise.
But here I am in a country that is not my own, watching and waiting (mostly waiting) as the drama unfolds on a global scale. And it seemed I was one of only a few that didn't bail out and go home.
So here is the first article: Corona Diaries: Nomadic Backpacker Stuck In Kenya, Part 1
