Enjoy the isolation at the Whitepark Bay Youth Hostel on the Antrim Coast in Northern Ireland
Having enjoyed my stay at the Bushmills Youth Hostel, next stop was another YHA Youth Hostel at Whitepark Bay.
The Antrim Coast is banging! From Bushmills I took a bus and got off at the Ballintoy Harbour turnoff and walked down the hill.
The kind lady at the café made me a coffee an hour before they were gonna open:

And then I walked along to coastal path to the Whitepark Bay Youth Hostel.
Like the Old School days when you had to arrive under your own steam:

My first official YHA hostel was the one in Bangor, Wales, back in the 80s. I had taken the train to Crewe and then cycled along the North Wales Coast. Just 100 miles or so. Easy back in those days.
Check-in wasn't until 3:30 pm, slightly inconvenient really but it is what it is so I hid my bag and then walked to Portbradden along the beach to backpack a cowshed. I am not joking!!

Things the traveller should know:
The Whitepark Bay YHA Hostel is in an isolated spot. There is no shop near by so take everything that you will need for your stay.
I carried in food for my dinner and scrounged some sugar for my morning coffee.
There was no free tea or coffee available nor any 'free food'. So take everything for your stay.
The WiFi was a bit erratic. Glad I had data!!
Here are some shots of the hostel from the outside and of the beach below:
