Staying at The Hospedaje El Viajero | Cheapest Hostel in Antigua Guatemala

The Hospedaje El Viajero Antigua, possibly the cheapest hostel in Antigua Guatemala.
Antigua is a tourist trap. But it is also pretty neat. It's a Guatemalan version of San Cristobal in Mexico with a hint of Oaxaca.
Guatemala is more expensive than Mexico. Antigua is more expensive than even the towns and villages on Lake Atitlán.
Antigua is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which it probably deserves but having such status always makes the locals put the prices up because their own rents went up.
I found the Hospedaje El Viajero on GoogleMaps. I looked up their FaceBook Page and sent them a message. Screw the booking agencies!
I have a very comfortable bed in a small but cozy room. There are only 7 rooms and since most backpackers seem to prefer the vibe in Lake Atitlan, I get the terrasse just for me with an awesome view of Volcan de Agua and Fuego.
The Hospedaje El Viajero Antigua is very clean and the staff take Covid seriously #justsaying. Suggest if you are going to stay there, do the same.
There is a small kitchen for self-catering which is very handy for the low budget traveller.

The other 'hostels' in town charge much more, even for a bed in a dorm. The cheapies on Calle 1a are the same price but are pretty dingy!
