How to eat cheaply in Santa Ana, El Salvador or anywhere really, around the world.
Is El Salvador Cheap? You can save yourself a shit load of money if you go to the Market in Santa Ana. This comedor is a real deal-breaker for me.
12 days ago I came here with a roomie. We both had a simple meal of rice, veg and salad.
Yesterday, my second visit, the lady pictured in the centre of the photo, remembered me. Straight away, my favourite meal combo, rice with 2 types of mixed salad and 2 tortillas was plated up.

Today, my 3rd visit, she was apologetic in that the choice of salad was limited and offered me an alternative. Fried Pacaya (just google 'pacaya verdura'. She knew I didn't eat meat.
This is the meal from today. Rice, salad, pacaya, 4 tortillas and a beer, just 3.25 USD. 2 USD without the beer.

This is the most popular comedor/eatery in the central market.
The trick when eating in a market, you go to the one with healthy-looking staff and where people are queuing up, waiting to be seated.
It's busy because the food is good, the food is fresh and the price is right!
