One Of The Best Hostel in Albania - Hostel Durres
On my first visit to Durres I head to Hostel Durres which turned out to be one of the best hostels in Albania.
Thoughts on arriving at the hostel, very suitable for the sizzling summer temperatures. Doors and windows open, front and back, high ceilings. I could breathe again.
Merli and her sister Kiti own and run the place with the help of some awesome volunteers from Brazil. And the cleaning lady, she's always smiling.

I booked 1 night on Booking and then just extended. This is my #NewNormal. I like to let the hostels know I am coming and then just extend. This way they don't have to pay the booking sites commission. And during Corona they are limiting the number of people in the rooms.
I took a bed in the 8 bed dorm. Comfortable mattresses, with ample to sit on the bottom bunk without banging one's head.
But I ain't gonna lie, bed bugs were an issue. Some beds worse than others. It's a BIG problem in Albania.

Well equipped kitchen, even with a veggie peeler and juicer for freshly squeezed lemon juice on those hot summer days:
No need to buy bottled water, they have a water dispenser, tea and coffee all day. They also have a laundry service.
Lots of room to sit, inside and out and get some work done on www.nomadicbackpacker.com:
