This is the cheapest way to get from the Playa Nudista at Zipolite to the “Bahias De Huatulco” International Airport using public transport.

So after you’ve bared your soul and a whole lot more on Mexico’s only official nudist beach, and feasted on all the wonderful food on offer at some of the best restaurants in Zipolite, save some cash by taking local transport to the airport for your flight back to Mexico City.

I have now written about how to get from Huatulco Airport to Zipolite. This post details how to get back to the airport after your vacation at the # PlayaNudista in Zipolite. I thought it was worth doing this post because the details are slightly different.

The journey is done in 2 stages:

  1. Zipolite to Pochutla
  2. Pochutla to Huatulco

1. Zipolite to Pochutla:

Pickups and colectivos come past Zipolite on the way to Pochutla. The place to catch them is at the junction outside the Piña Palmera gift shop. You just take whichever one comes past first. The photo below is from December 2025:

The fare as of December 2025 is 40 pesos, cash only, and the ride took 35 minutes (making sure it’s a colectivo and not a private hire):

2. Pochutla to Huatulco:

Minivans to Huatulco go from the small dedicated bus terminal in Pochutla. This is the “Rápidos de Pochutla” minivan we took in December 2025, from Pochutla to Huatulco. The fare was 50 pesos, and the ride took 55 minutes due to the road works. You pay the driver in cash:

The minivan will stop at the turn-off to the airport, from where it’s just a 400 m walk:

And take the Volaris flight back to CDMX. Wrap up well, the air-con is freezing!

The journey cost a total of 90 pesos. Quite a big difference from what a private taxi will cost you.
