How to get to Terminal 1 at the Mexico City Airport
The best (and cheapest) way to get to Terminal 1 at the Mexico City International Airport is to take the Metro (5 Pesos) to Terminal Aérea, from where it's a short walk to the terminal.
How to get to Terminal 2 at the Mexico City Airport
The best way to get to Terminal 2 at the Mexico City International Airport is to take MetroBus #4 from San Lazaro Metro, next to Tapo bus station, which runs to both terminals 1 and 2.
A ride on the MetroBus to Terminals 1 and 2 from San Lazaro costs 30 Pesos.
You swipe your MetroCard at the turnstile like normal, 6 Pesos and swipe your card again when entering the bus for the extra 24 Pesos. The journey time is 30 minutes.

Riding the Metro to Pantitlan, and then walking to terminal 2 is not recommended.
Guards ride the MetroBus for your safety.
It makes a loop. San Lazaro to Terminal 1/Terminal 2 then back to San Lazaro. No intermediate stops.
Riding the Metro in Mexico City with lots of luggage is not recommended at any time. And in general, try to avoid the rush hour.
The T1-T2 Tren which links the 2 terminals is only for passengers with connecting flights.

If you have lots of luggage, best use an UBER or a pre-paid taxi but they are not cheap but I guess you have taken a flight for 500+ USD, another 20 won't hurt and if you travel with lots of luggage, chances are, you're not a penny pinching backpacker.
Do not use the pink and white taxis.
